Metamorphosis
—from Association to Academy

Freely we have received, and freely we give. Developing capacities to their fullest, Gilead Academy educates students today for the world of tomorrow. Built on the solid foundation of the Bible and with a non-profit charter, we rest on God's providential care and leading. Counting Blessings

What a blessed season—the harvest gathered, we reflect on the abundance of God’s goodness through out the past year. And what a year it’s been! All but one of our major buildings got facelifts, in living color, no less. They stand out so cheerily against the early snowfall. If that wasn’t enough, the Administrative offices moved to the Administration Building! We’re warm with gratitude, as it looks and feels well-suited and well-timed. Adjusting to our new surroundings has been an adventure indeed. Finally, last but certainly not least, the Orchestra, is busily adding to its repertoire with a beautiful new melody, Miracles. So come and see... we can’t wait to share.

Soul Refreshment

“There is a distinction between recreation and amusement. Recreation, when true to its name, re-creation, tends to strengthen and build up. Calling us aside from our ordinary cares and occupations, it affords refreshment for mind and body, and thus enables us to return with new vigor to the earnest work of life. Amusement, on the other hand, is sought for the sake of pleasure and is often carried to excess; it absorbs the energies that are required for useful work and thus proves a hindrance to life’s true success.”
– Education pg. 207; E. G. White

“Recreation and amusement, why are they not the same? One has a means to an end. What is amusement? Amusement has no limit. Recreation is re-creation because you have all that fresh air in your lungs and brain cells and you feel good. Recreation tends to strengthen and upbuild.”
