Metamorphosis
—from Association to Academy

Freely we have received, and freely we give. Developing capacities to their fullest, Gilead Academy educates students today for the world of tomorrow. Built on the solid foundation of the Bible and with a non-profit charter, we rest on God's providential care and leading. With a strong emphasis on music, health, and horticulture the Academy operates year round enabling a broad curriculum and resourceful programs. Metamorphosis continued…

What's Happening

The Academy is enjoying a mild spring with temperatures between the mid 60s to high 70s. It's apparently the perfect conditions for a ferocious insect season. Bug-zapping paddles seem to be the new fad.

Grooming lawns and weed-eating are in full swing as the gardeners continue to get tender seedlings in the ground. Won't be long until we're enjoying gourmet lettuce.

The Orchestra begins its season at the Parry Sound Dragon Boat Races. With a fresh tuning, we look forward to enticing the paddlers into a dance or two with some glad music. Check out the refresh on the NLSO.ca site.

If you're planning a visit keep insect protection at the top of your "To Bring" list. Hope to see you soon.

Soul Refreshment

"The Christian school will not countenance anything that will in any way suggest that there is any distinction between work and education: it will steadily and uncompromisingly hold that work is education and education is work. The Christian school will not recognize the view that work is a means to an education in the sense that a person can work his way to an education, and when he has obtained his education he can consider himself above such work. The Christian school will allow that work is a means to an education only in the single sense that the work itself is education; that true education is found in the very work itself."

A.T. Jones, The Place of the Bible in Education
